Why Choose Nevada Union Dance?
Our school district is able to provide limited funding of under $10 per student for the entire school year, which barely covers the costs of bandaids, kleenex, paper, pencils, and other necessary and expendable classroom supplies each year. The remaining costs are supported by fundraising, which primarily consists of the ticket sales for our shows. Professional dancers and choreographers are hired each year to provide a wide variety of dance styles to the students in all classes. Although these artists provide their services for nominal fees, the costs do add up. In addition, there are costume expenses and travel costs.
While studio classes can cost upwards of hundreds or even thousands of dollars for training, plus additional costs for costume and production fees, our community classes and summer camps provide a very low cost alternative and support our public high school dance program. We offer classes for children as young as eight years old, as well as several classes in a variety of styles for teens and adults. All of our instructors are highly qualified to ensure safe training for all skill levels. Two advanced dancers from our program assist the instructor for all youth dance classes, providing internship and teacher training opportunities for our advanced students as well as more individualized support for the children.
We offer these community enrichment classes free to all currently enrolled NU dance students, but non-NU dancers are welcome to attend for the reasonable fee of $15 per class. You can pay-per-class as a drop-in, or purchase a class card at the beginning of the month for multiple classes.
Our goal is to provide excellent training and performances in a safe and supportive environment. Thank you for choosing Nevada Union Dance to support the Arts in our local public school!
