About the Classes:
- Contact Improvisation with Rebecca Bone: In this class we will practice giving and taking space within the context of a duet, freeing each person to experience autonomy within the dance. Thru solo movement investigation we will work with first building awareness and trust in our own moving body by exploring the pathways that are available to us today (which may be different from yesterday). Bringing information gleaned from solo practice into duets, we will learn to track and move with our partner thru varying stages of giving and receiving weight, thus allowing for the surrender of a shared point of gravity as well as the play that can emerge from fostering individuality and letting go of expectation.
- Contemporary Floorwork with Erin Reynolds: Based on Contemporary European dance forms, this class will explore how to use the physicality of your body to connect with gravity and utilize the floor as a dancing partner. Accessible to all levels, Reynolds’ will teach how to move in and out of the floor with efficiency, flow, release, and ease.
- Modern Azriel LaMarca: A modern movement class designed for dancers of all levels. Warm up your body with intelligent movement sequencing, exercise your brain and memory, and enjoy dancing with others. Includes a thorough warmup, heart opening QiGong exercises, simple technique and choreography, and improvisation.
Cost:
- $15 per 1.5 hr class. Drop-ins welcome. You can pay online via PayPal or pay with check or cash. Please make checks payable to Nevada Union Theatrical Dance (be sure to include student’s name along with your payment).
